My husband and I moved to Whiteshill 10 years ago from Stroud, where we have lived all our lives, and we knew straight away that this was our forever home. Our neighbours were so welcoming and we appreciated the local amenities including the Primary School, Village Pub and the Village Shop. The Village Shop became a great place to meet people and we felt that the community spirit there summed up the atmosphere of the whole village. My husband began volunteering there in 2005 and I felt that I also wanted to contribute to the community in some way so I joined the Parish Council in 2010.
I also became a School Governor for Whiteshill Primary School in 2010 and this is a role I find very rewarding and I take very seriously.
